The wax is used to give a soft consistency and lipid regulating effects to cosmetic products, especially lipsticks, eye pencils and emulsions, as well as hair care products and in decorative cosmetics. It can also be used as a substitute for beeswax. It can also be used as a substitute for beeswax. Kahlwax 6290 consists of a high amount of glycerol ester of C16-18 fatty acid. Because a significant part of it melts at temperatures < 30 °C, Kahlwax 6290 feels very silky and soft, comparable to a classic emollient. In addition, Kahlwax 6290 is producing very soft textures and improves significantly the sensory characteristics of O/W emulsions.
